The Arnold River begins at Lake Brunner and flows into the Grey River/Māwheranui. The river is only 20 kilometers long. Our trip usually begins in Greymouth and from there we drive 30 minutes to the river. Once there you will get changed into river gear and the guides will give you a comprehensive safety briefing before you hit the Grade 2 rapids.
"It's fun to see kids dressed up in tiny river gear taking on the waves."
We will spend around an hour and a half on the river. During your journey you will learn how to paddle, have fun splashing through the rapids and, if it is warm enough, there are some good swimming opportunities along the way. Before we drive back to Greymouth, you can get changed into dry clothes, then have a wee snack and a hot drink to conclude the trip.
